After all these preliminary activities, the Governor got Professor Charles Vajime, the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University (BSU) to set up a Steering Committee to advise the University on establishing a Faculty of Medicine. The College edifice was designed by Architect John Ameh but he apparently fell out with the government and another architect supervised the completion of the construction.
